Dear Secret Santa on Lifetime

Category: Television and Streaming

Dear Secret Santa is a story of finding true love. It’s not really a holiday film, except for the fact that it takes place at Christmas time. It’s just a sweet and magical story that will touch your heart.

After hearing her father (Bill Cobbs) had an accident, Jennifer (Tatyana Ali) comes home to help him. He still lives in the same house in which she grew up, and the town holds all her childhood memories. It’s different from the high level executive life she is living in Los Angeles. But it’s home.

Jennifer has been avoiding coming home since her best friend Jack (Lamorne Morris) was killed in a car accident three years earlier. It’s too painful for her to come back to the house that is only next door to Jack’s old house. They were best friends growing up and the memories of their great times together haunt her.

Then, Jennifer starts receiving anonymous Christmas cards in her mailbox. They are not stamped so they were obviously delivered in person. They are all signed, “Your Secret Santa.” So, who could it be? Could it be the cop she knew when she sang in the church choir? Could it be the owner of the coffee shop where she used to work?

Then she discovers the truth. The cards are from Jack. But how could that be? He died three years ago. So, Jennifer starts researching time travel. Time travel? She learns about a time slip. But that isn’t possible. It has to be someone playing a joke on her. Who is it?

The story is similar to The Lake House movie. It is hypnotic, in a way. We often wonder about our old loves. Jennifer gets the chance to find hers again.

Della Reese, Ernie Hudson, and Jordan Sparks co-star in this magical holiday romance. Dear Secret Santa premiers Saturday, November 30, 2013 on Lifetime.
